Watchmen demanded to start liquor in Darbhanga: warned of agitation, said 26 watchmen have been killed so far due to prohibition

After returning from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s program in Simaria, Darbhanga, 59-year-old watchman Ghuran Mahto, a resident of Sohilwara village of Begusarai, working in Mansoorchak police station, was missing since the night of 9 November. On Saturday, the body of the watchman was recovered from a paddy field filled with water. The post-mortem could not be conducted in Begusarai due to the deplorable condition of the body. The body was brought to DMCH for post-mortem on Sunday. As soon as the dead body arrived, the watchmen of many police stations reached DMCH. All the watchmen expressed their indignation over this murder.

Manish Paswan, District President of Darbhanga District Chowkidar and Dafadar Union, met the family members of the deceased watchman Ghooran Mahato and expressed his deep condolences. Chowkidar Manish Paswan told that so far twenty four watchmen have been killed by liquor mafia, land mafia, sand mafia all over Bihar.

The watchmen are being considered as carrot radish. The Chief Minister should start liquor in Bihar or provide security to the watchmen. Manish said that the eye of the police department is the ear watchman. Due to this, there is always a danger on the watchman. Due to the prohibition of alcohol, the number of enemies of the watchmen has increased. District President of Chowkidar Sangh Manish Paswan said that the government should start liquor in Bihar without any delay, otherwise the Chowkidar Sangh will be forced to agitate.
