Elderly BJP leader Pashupati Nath Singh was thrashed to death on Wednesday night in Sigra’s Jaiprakash Nagar Colony by the Manbads after he was interrupted by drinking alcohol. Son Rajan Singh, who came to the rescue, was beaten to death with sticks and rods. The injured son was admitted to BHU Trauma Centre. The attackers who came in numbers from 40 to 50 also pelted stones at the house. Sigra police have taken one accused into custody. The force of three police stations is present in BHU.

There is a house of Pashupati Nath Singh (71) in Jai Prakash Nagar Colony under Sigra police station. Nearby there is a contract of country and English liquor. At 8 o’clock in the night, some youths on contract came to the door of the animal husband Nath after drinking alcohol and abusing each other. Which was forbidden by Pashupati Nath and his son Rajan Singh (45). In the meantime, a dispute arose with two drunken youths. Some people of the locality gathered and beat up the youths. After this the youths ran away abusing them.

Within a short time, 15 -16 youths came from half a dozen bikes but left due to the high number of people in the locality. After eight o’clock in the night, 40 to 50 hockey players came armed with sticks and rods and attacked the father and son. He thrashed Pashupati Nath mercilessly with stone pelting and hockey sticks. Pashupati Nath died on the spot due to serious head injury. At the same time, son Rajan Singh also became dead. The attackers then fled.

The police reached the spot and admitted the injured to BHU Trauma Center. As soon as the information was received, a number of people including BJP Cantt MLA Saurabh Srivastava, Metropolitan President Vidya Sagar Rai, Rajesh Trivedi reached BHU Trauma Center. Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh also inquired about the spot and reached BHU. According to the police commissioner, one of the attackers was taken into custody. Three teams of police are raiding for the arrest of others.
