Uttarakhand News : Big news from Uttarakhand. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri has approved the government to cancel 150 appointments in the year 2016 as well as 6 in 2020 and 72 in 2021 in the Assembly Secretariat. He said that the assembly secretary Mukesh Singhal has been suspended with immediate effect.
The inquiry committee submitted the report to the Speaker
Ritu Khanduri said that the committee constituted to investigate the recruitment case in the Vidhan Sabha had submitted its 214-page investigation report to him late last night. He said that after the approval of the government, a decision regarding cancellation of these appointments would be taken.
Violation of Article 14 and Article 16 of the Constitution
Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that the inquiry committee has considered that whatever ad-hoc appointments were made, they were against the rules. Neither advertisements were issued for them, nor were any applications invited from the Employment Exchange. The inquiry committee has held that these recruitments have violated Article 14 and Article 16 of the Constitution. The original report is of 29 pages whereas this report with all the attachments is of 2014 pages.
Assembly secretary suspended with immediate effect
He said that the assembly secretary Mukesh Singhal has been suspended with immediate effect. Khanduri said that legal opinion would be taken regarding regular appointments before 2011.
