The US National Defense Strategy 2022 was released on Thursday. According to this strategy, the Pentagon will advance its key defense partnership with India. The Pentagon will “come forward to enhance India’s capability to deter the aggression of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and ensure free and open access to the Indian Ocean region.”
The US National Defense Strategy 2022 states that the Department of Defense will strengthen and build a resilient security system in the Indo-Pacific to maintain a free and open territorial order and prevent attempts to resolve disputes by force. It further added that we will deepen our alliance with Australia through investments in currency, interoperability and expansion of multilateral cooperation. Will encourage favorable conditions through advanced technical cooperation with partnerships such as AUKUS and Quad in the Indo-Pacific region.
Austin said – China will remain a challenge
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday that we know China’s intentions and Beijing will always remain a challenge. He said that China is the only rival of the United States, which has the intention and power to reshape the international order. Also said that apart from China, Russia cannot systematically challenge the United States for long.
Iran moving forward on its nuclear program
Austin said Iran is moving forward on its nuclear program, many countries are backing it behind the scenes and Iran is even exporting drones that Russia is using to kill Ukrainian civilians. He said the US is alert to global terrorist networks as well as to climate change, pandemics and threats posed across borders.
