This swimming pool has been made of international standard. With this, the swimmers of Purvanchal will get a big platform.
General Manager North Eastern Railway Chandra Veer Raman said that railway employees, swimmers and local people will get the benefit of this modern swimming pool. With the construction of this swimming pool, international level swimmers will be ready. This swimming pool was built according to the Olympic standard, which has been renovated, so that state and national level competitions can be organized in Gorakhpur. He said that not only railway players but players from outside would also be able to get training from qualified trainers in this swimming pool, for which they would have to register.
CPRO Pankaj Kumar Singh said that this swimming pool was built 60 years ago. At present, this swimming pool has been renovated and made modern and equipped, for which filter plants and emeration tanks have been installed to keep the water clean. This swimming pool is 50 meters long, 18.5 meters wide and about 06 meters deep. 08 blocks of fiber and 8 lanes have been made in the swimming pool, in which 08 swimmers will be able to swim together. In this, according to the standard height, diving boards have been installed and adequate lighting arrangements have been made for the night. Any interested person can take admission here after paying the prescribed fee after registration. With the availability of the facility of this modern swimming pool, swimmers can be prepared according to national and international swimming competitions. All the safety standards have been followed in this swimming pool. Here young swimmers will get an opportunity to practice and an additional sporting environment will be created. The North East Railway Sports Association is making continuous efforts to promote sports.
On this occasion friendly matches of 50 meter freestyle, 50 meter back stroke, 50 meter breast stroke, 50 meter butterfly, diving and water polo were played.
