The new President of Uttar Pradesh Congress has been appointed. Former Jalaun MP Brijlal Khabri has been made the new president of the party. Khabri was in the BSP till 2016. In 1999, Khabri became an MP on a BSP ticket. Along with the president, the Congress has also appointed six provincial presidents. Ajay Rai, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Virendra Chaudhary, Nakul Dubey, Anil Yadav and Yogesh Dixit have been appointed to the post of provincial president.
Who is Brijlal Khabri?
Khabri had left the BSP and joined the Congress in 2016. He has long experience of organization. He has also been the zonal coordinator of BSP. He has also been an MP from Jalaun-Garautha. Apart from this, he has also held the responsibility of Rajya Sabha member.
Efforts are also being made to make caste equation
The state president comes from the Khabri Dalit community. At the same time, two provincial presidents have been made from Brahmins, one Muslim, one Bhumihar and two from backward caste. In addition, their fields of work have also been divided on the basis of caste.
Nakul Dubey also came five months ago among the provincial presidents
The party has also made Nakul Dubey, who had joined the Congress from the BSP in the party five months ago, as the party’s provincial president. Dubey was one of the big Brahmin faces of the BSP till the 2022 assembly elections. Nakul Dubey was thrown out of the party by Mayawati after the election defeat. Dubey had joined the Congress on May 26, a month after he was thrown out of the party. After five months of joining the party, Congress has given him a big responsibility.
One of the two MLAs of the party got the post
Virendra Chaudhary, one of the two Congress MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, has got the responsibility of the provincial president. Choudhary had won from Farenda assembly seat in the 2022 assembly elections. Chaudhary was in the fray for the fifth time from the Farenda assembly. Virendra had to face defeat from this seat for the last four consecutive times. Virendra Chaudhary has contested from BSP thrice and Congress twice.

Nakul Dubey was in BSP till five months back. At the same time, Naseemuddin Siddiqui was also in BSP till 2020. Virendra Chaudhary had also contested from Farenda thrice till 2012 on a BSP ticket. At the same time, Ajay Rai also did his political innings with BJP and came to Congress in 2010 through SP.
