Unclaimed newborn found wrapped in cloth on river bank in Banka: Handed over to Childline, a childless couple pleaded for adoption

Sensation spread after a new born baby was found in the river in Banka. After this, the local people handed over the abandoned newborn to the child department team. The matter is of 5 o’clock on Tuesday evening. Some people of Jagatpur locality were going to the banks of Chandan river on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, near the Karbala Maidan on the banks of the river, a newborn baby was seen wrapped in a cloth. The baby was alive, breathing. The news of the baby being found alive spread like a fire in the whole area.

On hearing this news, Munna Mandal of Jagatpur locality and his wife Rinku Devi who is bereft of mother’s love. She ran and picked up the newborn lying abandoned in the river, and brought it to her home. Childline Line Banka was informed about this on mobile. As soon as the information was received, Childline’s District Coordinator Manoj Kumar and member Nitish Kumar reached the spot. After reaching there, he took the newborn in his custody and immediately sent him to the Sadar Hospital, Banka. Where the doctors admitted her to the ICU and started checking the health of the girl child.

In this regard, Childline Banka District Coordinator Manoj Kumar told that information was received about the newborn being found in the river. As soon as we got the information, we went to the spot. But it came to know that Munna Mandal and his wife Rinku Devi of Jagatpur locality had taken the girl to their home. Manoj Kumar got the girl admitted to the hospital. He told that the weight of the girl child is 2 kg 150 grams. The girl child is completely healthy, but due to cold in the night, her sugar level has increased a lot.

Here, Munna Mandal and his wife Rinku Devi have requested Childline Coordinator and Child Welfare Protection Unit and Administration to take the girl child. They said that I am childless, and I will bring up the child properly.
