Ujjain News: Administration Has Prepared A Special Plan To Deal With Floods, Will There Be Some Precautions To Be Taken, Know?
In Ujjain, the Divisional Commissioner took a meeting of the Water Drainage Monitoring Committee, in which he maintained regular communication with the Water Resources Department and the district administration, to timely identify the spread of water in the potential areas downstream of large and medium dams before floods, with NVDA. Constant contact should also be maintained, important discussions have been held regarding the flood control room being active round the clock.
Divisional Commissioner Sandeep Yadav on Friday directed the Collectors of all the districts of Ujjain division and the officials of the Water Resources Department to mark the potential spread of water in the downstream of large and medium project dams from now on. Every possible effort should be made to prevent possible loss of life due to excessive rains and floods.

The Divisional Commissioner said that the Collectors of all the districts and the officers of the Water Resources Department should maintain regular communication with each other. Especially the officers of Dewas district should keep constant contact with the Narmada Valley Development Authority. Divisional Commissioner Yadav said that large dams are most likely to cause damage during floods, so efforts should be made from now on to ensure facilities of basic needs in the villages marked by floods. He instructed to activate the flood control room round the clock and said that knowledgeable officers and employees should be put on duty in the control room. Mobile numbers of all concerned people should be updated in the control room.

It was told in the meeting that in Dewas district, the water of Bargi dam reaches Nemawar and other places in 24 hours and Tawa dam in 16 hours. The Divisional Commissioner said that there is a need for constant monitoring of the Ghat of Dharaji which has been opened at present. Duty of home guard should be imposed at the Ghat for 24 hours. The Divisional Commissioner directed that signal boards should be installed around the dam. Also, make sure to arrange for loudspeakers during floods.
