Two incidents of child theft were reported in the city on Wednesday. However, in both the incidents, the family members got their children safely. The first incident is of Sachchidanand Colony under Tilkamanjhi police station, while the second incident is of Urdu Bazar of Tatarpur police station area. In both the cases, the family members have also heaved a sigh of relief when the child is found safe and sound. However, Tilkamanjhi’s Thanedar Raj Ratan has denied the incident of child theft.
He said that everything is a rumour. The girl had run away from her home somewhere. Which Toto driver took to the police station. After getting information from the girl in the police station, she was handed over to the family members. While the seven-year-old girl Abhilasha says that some unknown person had taken her with him on the pretext of giving her chocolates.
Case-1
Abhilasha, the 7-year-old daughter of Rajkumar Mandal, who was staying at her aunt’s house in Sachchidanand Colony, went out of her house on Wednesday morning. The family members thought that it must be playing somewhere around here. But when she did not come to school till 7.30 pm, her family members started searching for her. Around 9 o’clock, the Tilkamanjhi police called on Abhilasha’s mother’s mobile and told that she was in the police station.
Some unknown Toto driver took it in front of the police station and left. After that, the girl’s uncle Rajesh Mandal reached the police station and took the girl home with him. Whereas Abhilasha says that some unknown person had taken her with him on the pretext of giving chocolates. When she started crying, he dropped her near the airport and left. From where he was taken to the police station by a toto person.
Case-2
In the second case, Mohd, a resident of Urdu Bazar of Tatarpur police station area. Munna’s six-year-old son Mohd. Janu was coming back from the madrasa located at Jabbarchak around 11 am on Wednesday. Then an unknown person started taking her with him by luring her. When the people present there questioned Janu on the basis of suspicion, he told the whole thing. After that the mob caught the accused of child lifter and beat him up. After getting information, the police of Tatarpur police station reached the spot and took the accused along with them. In this regard, Tatarpur SHO Poonendu Kumar said that the accused is mentally deranged. He is neither able to tell his name nor his address.
There have been incidents of child theft in the city too
Let us tell you that there have been incidents of child theft in the city in the past as well. On October 2 itself, a woman was beaten up by a mob on charges of child theft in Badi Khanjarpur under Barari police station area. However, it was later revealed that the woman was mentally unsound, who had wandered away from somewhere.
