On the second day of Diwali in Buxar, members of the cowherd family and cattle ranchers celebrated the cow dart festival in a traditional way. The centuries-old tradition of ‘cow-pig wrestling’ was also carried out with gusto and enthusiasm. The cattle-keepers were trying to get the pig to die with their buffaloes tying a rope to the feet of the cow. In the fight between the cow and the pig, the symbol of goodness and the pig, symbolizing evil, was considered defeated due to repeated running away.
The pastoralists started reaching the place of worship with their cattle in the afternoon. Where the work of worship and rituals was completed in the complete traditional way. For this, cows, buffaloes and other cattle were bathed and vaccinated with ghee vermilion. More faith and enthusiasm was seen in a particular caste regarding this worship.

Although this worship is not done in every village of the district. This video is of Chaugai block where special caste The people of the community celebrate it. A cash prize was given to the owner of the person whose cow won. After that Prasad was distributed.

Their ancestors used to tell that once a demon in the form of a pig inflicted horrific tyranny on the Yaduvanshis on earth. Lord Krishna took the form of a cow and killed it with his hooves. Since then the tradition of performing it has been going on. In this, the pig is also worshiped along with the cow.
