Tomato looting spree on Gaya’s GT Road: Many carats were looted in half an hour, people kept saying – Aaj Jhor-Bhat Chalega

Whenever a vehicle overturns on the GT Road in Gaya, first of all the goods kept in it are looted. Sometimes for fish and sometimes for oil. Such a sight is often seen on GT Road. The latest incident is of Wednesday.

After the pick-up vehicle overturned near Karasan bridge located in Imamganj police station area, there was a competition to loot the tomatoes present in it. Children and old people all started looting. Within half an hour, several carat tomatoes were looted by the people.

Eyewitnesses said that the pick-up vehicle coming at high speed from Imamganj lost control near Karasan bridge and overturned. As soon as the vehicle overturned, the tomatoes loaded on it scattered on the road. Seeing the overturning of the vehicle on the road and seeing the tomatoes spread on the road, people rushed to the vehicle. Whoever got it, started filling tomatoes in it. Some carried it in a bag and some carried it in polythene. Someone tied it in a pot and took it away. Children and old people were all involved in this work with full passion.

It is surprising that no one even bothered to take the injured driver to the hospital after the vehicle overturned. However, some people showed humanity and admitted the driver Suresh to a nearby hospital. He is undergoing treatment. It is being told that tomatoes were being taken to Gaya vegetable market. Meanwhile, a road accident happened. Tomato looters were heard saying among themselves that ‘Jhor (gravy) rice will be served today’.
