The fog hasn’t started yet. But, due to fog, East Central Railway has canceled the operation of two dozen pairs of long distance trains from December to February. In this, one and a half dozen pairs of trains have been completely canceled and more than half a dozen travel days have been cut short. In such a situation, problems have arisen in front of people who had made reservations in trains three to four months ago. Especially more for those people, who have booked tickets to go to a wedding somewhere. Because, just before the journey, confirmed tickets are not available in any train.
The younger son of Omprakash Gupta of Dumri is married in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. Railways stopped operation of many trains from December to February due to fog
Big question: why reservation when train is canceled every year
It is not that for the first time the Railways has canceled the operation of trains due to possible fog. Rather, every year from October-November itself, it starts announcing the cancellation of trains running in December, January and February. The reason given is that trains get delayed due to fog. But, the big question is that when the railways know that there will be fog every year during these three months. So why ticket reservation is done four months in advance.
Now getting long waiting on booking tickets
In fact, these days being the season of weddings, people had booked tickets for commuting two-three months in advance. But now trains are being canceled due to possible fog and the distance of some is getting reduced. At the same time, the routes of some are being changed. People are facing problems due to this. Due to train cancellation a week before the journey, confirmed tickets are not available in other trains as well.
54 tickets canceled when queued 9 times
Not only this, even after the cancellation of the train, the passengers have to go round the counter to cancel the ticket. According to Omprakash, he stood in line nine times to get 54 tickets cancelled. The same situation remained for taking tickets in the second train. He had to stand in line several times to get a new reservation.
