Adam made this record in the final against India at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In 2007, the Sri Lankan bowler took 23 wickets in 10 matches at an economy of 4.14. In which the feat of taking four wickets twice was in his name.

Adam Zampa finished his ODI World Cup 2023 campaign with 23 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 5.36. The leg spinner took 1 wicket for 44 runs in 10 overs against India. With this, he equaled Muralitharan’s record by taking the wicket of Jasprit Bumrah. Brad Hogg (2007) and Shahid Afridi (2011) are at second place with 21 wickets each.
