The effect of the humiliating 10-wicket defeat by England in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup, 2022 is visible. Taking a big and tough decision, the BCCI has sacked the entire 5-member National Selection Committee.
Significantly, the seven remaining members of the sacked selection committee, headed by Chetan Sharma, included Sunil Joshi, Devashish Mohanty, Harvinder Singh and Abhay Kuruvilla. Let us tell you that this is the first time in the history of Indian cricket, when the selectors have to bear the brunt of the poor performance of the team. Taking a tough decision, BCCI has also released the notice of application for the new selection committee.
