BANGUED, Abra: A 38-year-old teacher died after he was shot twice by two still unidentified motorcycle-riding men while he was on his way to work at Barangay Liptan here on Wednesday morning, police said on Thursday.
Gen. Mafelino Bazar, Police Regional Office director in the Cordillera Administrative Region, identified the victim as Rudy Steward Dugman Sayem, single and a teacher at the Suyo National High School in Pidigan, Abra, and residing at Zone 4, Bangued.
Probers said Sayem was on board his motorcycle on his way to school when he was tailed by the two suspects who immediately shot him twice upon reaching a car wash.
The teacher was rushed by concerned residents and responding personnel of the Abra Provincial Mobile Force Company to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead there by attending physicians.
The police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
