India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh after being injured while fielding in the third and final match of the ODI series in Bangladesh. It is believed that the final decision will be taken on the inclusion of Rohit Sharma in the team to be released for this series next week.
Significantly, the Indian team will play 3-3 matches ODI and T20I series against the visiting Sri Lanka team.

Though the NCA cleared India opener and captain Rohit Sharma to play the Dhaka Test, the BCCI medical team did not give him permission. In such a situation, there will be a fitness test of Rohit Sharma once again next week, after that the same medical team will take a final decision on his inclusion in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Significantly, the first match of SRL vs IND T20I Series, 2023 will be held in Mumbai on 3 January, the second match on 5 January in Pune and the third match on 7 January in Rajkot.
