Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a serious thumb injury while fielding in the third and final match of the ODI series against Bangladesh, after which he was ruled out of the India-Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) Test series. Now the decision on his return to the team is likely to be taken next week.
Significantly, the Indian team will play 3-3 T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka next month. In such a situation, questions are being raised whether the regular captain of Team India, Rohit Sharma will be present for the SRL vs IND T20I Series, 2023 starting from January 3 or not. After which the ODI series (SRL vs IND ODI Series, 2023) will start from 10 January 2023.
There is news that Rohit Sharma will have a fitness test again next week. Only then will a decision be taken on his availability for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
