Kolkata/New Delhi: Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly arrived at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday to file his nomination for the post of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president. Let us tell you that a few days ago, Roger Binny replaced Sourav Ganguly as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Earlier, the former India captain was offered the post of IPL chairman but he declined it. After being elected here, it will be Ganguly’s second term as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Ganguly was its president from 2015 to 2019. The Bengal Cricket Association elections are scheduled to be held on 31 October.

Ganguly was not considered for a second term as the President of the BCCI and was removed from the post after the BCCI meeting at Trident on 11 October. After which Roger Binny was appointed as the new president in his place.

Sourav Ganguly ended his BCCI President’s tenure after a long gap of three years. Roger Binny has been named president. At the same time, Jay Shah will continue to serve as the BCCI secretary. Whereas, Ashish Shelar has been appointed as the BCCI Treasurer. Rajiv Shukla will be the vice-president, while Devjit Saikia will be the joint secretary. At the same time, Arun Dhumal has been appointed as the chairman of IPL.
