    Sikkim Accident: Tribute will be paid to the martyrs in Bengal today, 16 soldiers were martyred when the truck fell into the ditch

    The painful road accident in Sikkim shook the nation on Friday. 16 soldiers were martyred when the army truck fell into the ditch. At the same time, the tribute ceremony of the Indian Army soldiers who lost their lives in the accident will be held at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal today. According to army officials, it will be held between 12.30 pm to 2 pm on Saturday.

    According to the army, the vehicle skidded down a steep slope at a sharp turn on its way to Jemaah. A rescue operation was immediately launched and four injured soldiers are being airlifted. Unfortunately, three Junior Commissioned Officers and 13 soldiers succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. Indian Army stands with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.

    Chief Ministers of West Bengal, Sikkim expressed condolences

    Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also expressed deep sorrow. Tamang tweeted that 16 of our brave soldiers lost their lives in the accident at Jemaa. In this hour of grief, I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I wish for the speedy recovery of the four injured jawans. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also condoled the death of the soldiers and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
