New Delhi: There is a lot of talk going on in the Indian cricket team about Sanju Samson. Sanju Samson was included in the 15-man squad for the T20 series played against New Zealand (India vs New Zealand). But, Sanju was not included in the playing 11. Due to this once again the fans of Sanju are disappointed. At the same time, along with the fans, some Indian players are also looking forward to see Sanju playing on the field. Meanwhile, now Indian cricketer Manish Pandey praised Sanju and said that Samson should have played in his place.

Recently speaking to Sportskeeda, Manish Pandey said, “Look obviously, personally I will be a little saddened by it, but I am sure whatever decision the Indian team was taking or whatever the fixed number I was playing games, I was happy for them. Sanju was batting well, so I felt he should have played matches now and he did. So no hard feelings there, but from a personal perspective, I obviously want to play a lot more matches and prove myself at the highest level, but unfortunately it hasn’t happened. Maybe see how it goes from here.”

Manish Pandey further said, “I have gone through that situation with the Indian team as well, because there have been times when I have not played enough matches and I am sitting out. You actually feel a bit sad about it, but it’s all in the spirit of the game where the team requires something and then you have to comply. So I have been in situations like this before and I feel that I should not let all these things affect me which will ultimately affect my game. That’s why I just want to live in the present. If I get a chance, I want to play and score well and see how it goes from there.”

He further said, “Unfortunately we could not win the World Cup this time, but we had a solid team. My inclusion in the team depends on many things. Again it will be full circle. A lot of people who perform in IPL will come and we have to build the team around that. We have a really solid team looking at the top 20 or top 25 and we are still No.1.”
