Ricky Ponting’s former teammate Justin Langer, now a member of the commentary team, helped Ponting down the stairs to the Australian team doctor Leigh Goulding. After this he was taken to the hospital. Ponting said he spent some time in the hospital and had a good night’s sleep.
He took this pain seriously as Shane Warne and Rodney Marsh died of heart attacks. “Yesterday was a good learning day for me, especially considering what happened to some of the people around us over the last 12 to 18 months,” he said. (agency)
