On Friday, near Champapur Narirgir of Ramgarhwa police station area of Motihari, a chimney beam broke down. Eight people have died due to being buried below it. In the rescue operation that lasted till late night, 16 injured have been evacuated and admitted to different hospitals. Many people are still feared buried under the debris. Among the dead are the local and residents of Uttar Pradesh, including the chimney owner.
Raxaul SDPO, Ramgarhwa Police Station President Indrajit Paswan, Ramgarhwa BDO and CO are camping at the spot since the incident. At the same time, East Champaran DM and SP went to Ramgarhwa, but due to fog, both returned from Banaspati place of Sugauli police station. Everyone was very happy after the smoke came out of the chimney. Suddenly at 4:30 pm there was a loud noise and the chimneypiece fell in half. After that there was chaos. Everyone started running here and there. After the incident, there was a hue and cry on the chimney. Everyone was seen searching for their relatives here and there.
Deepak Kumar, Budhai Lal, Subhash Kumar, Ilyas Ahmed, 25-year-old Anil Baitha, 50-year-old Bannu Miyan and 25-year-old Sajid Miyan, besides Irshad, 35, a partner in Chimni, have died in the accident.

The injured are undergoing treatment at SRP Hospital
All the injured in the accident were admitted to SRP Hospital. Here Amresh Kumar, Mukesh Ram, Alamgir, Abdul Haq, Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Umesh Ram, Asanullah are undergoing treatment in ICU along with the other owner Noorul Haq. The condition of all remains critical. Villagers told that apart from this, other people have been admitted to Ramgarhwa and other nearby hospitals. An injured person told that around 50-60 people were present there at the time of the incident.

The main reason for the chimney blast was revealed that due to burning more wood in the pipe, the pressure of the smoke increased and the blast took place. Due to the fire below, many people got burnt. Who were pulled out with the help of the local people. On the instructions of the DM, the process of conducting the post-mortem of the dead body was started in the night itself. He constituted a medical board and directed to conduct the post-mortem. After which the team of doctors reached the hospital. The dead body was brought to Sadar Hospital late night. Police started the paperwork for the post-mortem. The rule is that the distance between two brick kilns should be more than one kilometer. The distance from the river or other natural water body, dam should be more than 500 meters. The distance of the new brick-kiln from population, fruit garden, office, school-college, hospital, court should be more than 800 meters, railway line and national highway should be more than 200 meters.
District Magistrate SK Ashok said that an inquiry would be conducted as to why the incident happened. Chimney is operated from two departments. From pollution and mining department. Other things including mining department brick pathai and zigzag chimney while pollution board looks at pollution. The chimney was old. Which officer had given permission to run after examining it. It will be investigated. Coal is put in the chimney so that pressure does not build up. But, chimney operators put tires and other flammable materials in it. It will also be investigated whether it was used here or not. Action will be taken against whoever is guilty.
