Through this recruitment drive, a total of 128 posts of religious teachers will be recruited in the Indian Army. These include posts for Pandit, Pandit (Gorkha), Granthi, Maulvi (Shia), Pastor, Buddhist Monk and Maulvi (Sunni) categories.
what will be the responsibility
The responsibility of the selected candidates for these posts is to preach religious texts to the soldiers and fulfill various religious traditions in the regimental/unit. At the same time, they will have to attend funerals, read prayers with convocations, meet serving soldiers, children and enlisted boys and special religious instructions to officers, soldiers and their families, besides attending religious institutions. Apart from this, he will have to do many things including praying for the sick in the hospital.
Qualification
Pandit and Pandit (Gorkha)
Candidate applying for this post should be Hindu. The candidate must have a degree of Acharya/Shastri in Sanskrit from a University recognized by the UGC. Apart from this, rituals should be the main or core subject in Shastri or Acharya / one year diploma in rituals should also be done.
cleric
Candidate must be Muslim. Apart from this, with graduation, knowledge of Alim in Arabic or Adeeb-e-Mahir/Urdu should be there.
gland
Candidate must be Sikh. Apart from this, the applicant should have graduation in any discipline and should have knowledge of Punjabi.
Buddhist monk
Applicant must be Buddhist. Apart from this, they should be ordained as a monk/Buddhist priest by the appropriate authority with graduation.
pastor
The applying candidate must be a Christian. Apart from this, graduation from a University recognized by UGC and should have obtained Priest Hood from the appropriate authority. At the same time, it should be approved by the local bishop.
