    A special train left for Rameshwaram from Durgapura railway station in Jaipur on Wednesday under the senior citizen pilgrimage scheme of the state government. Devasthan Minister Shakuntala Rawat flagged off the train. A total of 1100 senior passengers from all the districts of Rajasthan left for the pilgrimage in this special train. During this, happiness was visible on the faces of the senior passengers traveling in the train and thanked the Chief Minister for this scheme. During this, Chairman of Rajasthan Small Industries Development Corporation Rajeev Arora read out the message of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to the pilgrims.

    Devasthan Minister Smt. Shakuntala Rawat said that 1100 passengers are being taken to Rameswaram by the state government in the 17th train. Senior citizens have shown great enthusiasm this year for the Senior Citizens Pilgrimage. This year, about 1.25 lakh passengers have applied for travel as compared to 20 thousand passengers. He said that by fixing the number of passengers in proportion to the population of the districts, a lottery is being conducted to select passengers and travel with facilities is being done with transparency. Is. Minister Rawat said that 18,000 senior citizens of the state are being provided free travel by train and 2,000 passengers by air to Kathmandu through the public welfare senior citizen pilgrimage scheme started by the state government. He said that so far 16975 senior citizens have traveled in 16 trains under this scheme. It is worth mentioning that under the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme, travel to 14 religious places of the country is being done by train and Pashupatinath-Kathmadu by air. The pilgrimage includes Rameshwaram-Madurai, Jagannathpuri Tirupati, Dwarkapuri-Somnath, Vaishnodevi-Amritsar, Prayagraj-Varanasi, Mathura-Vrindavan, Sammedshikhar-Pawapuri, Ujjain-Omkareshwar, Gangasagar-Kolkata Kamakhya-Guwahati, Haridwar-Rishikesh, Bihar Sharif and Velankani Church Tamil Nadu etc. Pilgrimage places are being organized. In this scheme, a single passenger above 70 years of age and a couple above 75 years of age can also take an assistant.
