    Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that special attention needs to be paid to solar energy in Bihar under water-life-greenery. This is the greatest need of the present time. This will reduce the dependence on thermal energy. The state will get financial benefit. It can also become a source of income for the villagers. There is a lot of potential for the development of solar energy in the Chaur region of North Bihar. He was inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 15,871.24 crore for the development of the energy sector on Wednesday.

    He said that solar energy plates would be installed on the canals of South Bihar. Solar lights are being installed in panchayats under the Chief Minister’s Rural Solar Street Light Scheme. 10-10 solar lights are being installed in all the wards of every panchayat. Solar lights will also be installed in village panchayat offices and hospitals.

    Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav gave the engineers the task of timely completion of the schemes laid by the Chief Minister. Chief Secretary Amir Subhani said that the ‘Bihar model’ of electricity is being praised in the country. Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Amrit Pratyay said that the Chief Minister was keeping a special eye on the Energy Department.

Principal Secretary of Energy Department and CMD of Power Holding Company Sanjeev Hans said that power companies are continuously working to reduce their losses.     4.50 lakh farmers will get connection through agriculture feeder
    Principal Secretary, Energy Department said that 1555 agricultural feeders are being made. In the next three years, 4.50 lakh willing farmers will be given connections for agricultural work in the field.     • Foundation stone of 5930.89 crore schemes

    These electric power sub-stations were inaugurated: Electric power constructed at Patna, Bhagalpur, Nalanda, Gaya, Arrah, Aurangabad at a cost of Rs 92.71 crore under NBPDCL, Darbhanga, Motihari, Chhapra, Vaishali, West Champaran, Saharsa, Araria, Gopalganj, Begusarai and Rs 182.84 crore under SBPDCL The sub-centres were inaugurated.

    Grid sub-station and associated transmission lines built in Patna region at a cost of Rs 1099.42 crore of Bihar Grid Company Limited and schemes of Rs 1164.05 crore of BSPTCL were also inaugurated. During this, Principal Secretary to CM Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner Vivek Kumar Singh, MD SBPDCL Mahendra Kumar and MD Prabhakar, CM’s Secretary Anupam Kumar etc. were present.
