Program: Godbharai festival celebrated in Anganwadi centers, information given about safe and normal delivery

Godbharai festival was celebrated on Friday in the Anganwadi centers operated in all the blocks of the district. During this, information related to nutrition was given to the beneficiaries. They were made aware about building a healthy society. The program started with Mangal songs.
During this, a packet of nutrition was given to the pregnant woman as a gift, which included jaggery, gram, green leafy vegetables, iron tablets, nutrition and fruits. In the plate of nutrition, there were many types of nutritious food items.
Vaccinated pregnant women by covering them with chunri. With this the Godbharai ceremony was completed. On this occasion women were told about the need and importance of nutrition for good health.
Made aware for building a healthy society
Praful Jha, DPL of Piramal Foundation said that people were made aware about building a healthy society in the Godbharai festival. Along with this, it was advised to take care of cleanliness in and around the house. Information was given about no water stagnation around the house, use of dustbin etc.

Kovid vaccination was also organized
District Immunization Officer Dr. Devnandan Paswan informed that Godbharai-cum-vaccination camp was organized at all Anganwadi centers of the district on Friday. Eligible beneficiaries of COVID and routine immunization were motivated and vaccinated. At the same time, necessary advice was given to pregnant women for safe and normal delivery. Proper nutrition was said to be very important for a safe and normal delivery. ICDS District Program Officer Sunita Kumari said that in the Godbharai ceremony, the servants wished better health of their unborn child by wearing chunari and tilak in honor of the pregnant women.
