Priyanka Gandhi targeted BJP, said- those who attack the soul of the constitution will celebrate ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’

New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday attacked the Central government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that it is surprising that those who are attacking the Constitution and the soul of democracy will celebrate Samvidhan Hatya Diwas.

The Centre has decided to observe June 25 as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. Emergency was declared on this day in 1975. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that observing Samvidhan Hatya Diwas on June 25 will remind us what happened when the Constitution was trampled upon.

Priyanka said in a post on ‘X’, ‘The great people of India have achieved their freedom and their constitution by fighting a historic battle. Those who made the constitution, those who have faith in the constitution, they will protect the constitution.’

Targeting the BJP, he said, ‘They opposed the implementation of the Constitution, formed a commission to review the Constitution, called for the abolition of the Constitution, repeatedly attacked the spirit of the Constitution and democracy through their decisions and actions, they will definitely celebrate ‘Constitution Hatya Diwas’ with negative politics, what is the surprise in that?’
