Preparations completed for municipal elections in Sitamarhi
Preparations for the civic body elections are in full swing in Sitamarhi district. In the first phase on Sunday, elections are to be held in the Nagar Parishad Bairganiya and Janakpur Road and Nagar Panchayat Belsand area of the district. For which the polling personnel have been dispatched by all the three Returning Officers along with the polling materials regarding the election. The presiding officers and polling personnel have also been given training on the app FRS system given by the Election Commission. So that the voter can be identified by face. Along with this, it can be helpful in conducting peaceful and fair elections.
A total of 48 booths have been set up in Bargania Municipal Council constituency. In which 10 mobile booths were made. For which a total of 240 polling personnel along with 48 presiding officers have been sent to the booth with election materials. He said that a total of 12 Sector Magistrates and 23 Patrolling Magistrates have been deployed in the constituency for conducting fair elections. In the first phase of polling, elections will be held for the posts of Chief Councillor, Deputy Chief Councilor and Ward Councilor of Belsand Nagar Panchayat, Bairgania Municipal Council and Janakpur Road Municipal Council. Election is being held for a total of 15 posts in Belsand. Against which 57 candidates are in the fray. District Deputy Electoral Officer Vipin Kumar told that the first phase elections will be held on December 18 on 49 booths in Municipal Council Janakpur Road Pupri constituency and 21 booths in Belsand.
Belsand’s Assistant Returning Officer cum BDO Mayank Kumar Singh told that apart from 13 original polling stations, eight auxiliary polling stations have been set up. Drinking water, lights and necessary facilities are being made available at all the polling stations. Along with this, the rules of Kovid will also be followed. In the same Pupri, polling will be held on 49 booths of total 25 wards of Municipal Council tomorrow, Sunday. This time the total number of voters in Nagar Parishad Janakpur Road is 32,708. This includes 17,101 male voters while 15, 606 are female voters. Here 49 polling stations have been set up in 25 wards.
