Postal assistant missing in Bhagalpur
Postal assistant who had gone for Ganga bath in Bhagalpur has gone missing. Whose scooty has been recovered from the banks of river Ganga. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation. The same missing postal assistant has been identified as 55-year-old Umashankar Sahu of Postal Colony, Radha Rani Sinha Road, Adampur.
The same Umashankar’s son Sachin told that his father is working as a postal assistant in the post office of Nathnagar and today at around seven o’clock in the morning on Saturday morning, he left the Barari Ganga Ghat on a scooty from home to take a bath in the Ganges and at ten o’clock. Even after Umashankar did not come home, the family started searching and Umashankar’s scooty was found on the ladder ghat of Barari Ganga Ghat and clothes were lying on the scooty. During interrogation, people told that they have jumped into the Ganges with the intention of suicide. The information of which was informed by the family members to the Burari police station. And the police is investigating the matter after reaching and the SDRF team was informed, but even after four hours passed, the SDRF team did not reach the spot to investigate. Due to which there was anger in the family.
Eyewitnesses told that the postal assistant has jumped in the Ganges
At the same Barari Ladder Ghat, people told that when Postal Assistant Umashankar reached on his scooty and opened the clothes and put them on his car and went to Vikramshila bridge and jumped in the Ganges. A letter was found from the clothes kept on the scooty of the missing Postal Assistant. A letter has also been recovered from the clothes of the missing Umashankar Sahu kept on his scooty, on which the address of Postal Assistant Umashankar Sahu’s house is written and the mobile number has been found. Due to which there is a apprehension among the people that due to some reason they have committed suicide by jumping into the Ganges.
At present, the SDRF has arrived at 6.30 pm for the search, but due to darkness, the rescue will be carried out tomorrow morning on Sunday. The same Postal Assistant Umashankar Sahu is originally a resident of Sahu Parbatta village of Parbatta police station area and lived in a rented house located at Radha Rani Sinha Road in Adampur police station area of Bhagalpur in Postal Colony.
