Police officer and watchman honored in Bettiah

Bettiah SP Upendra Nath Verma has rewarded the police officers and watchmen involved in the encounter with liquor smugglers on November 6 by giving cash and citation. The SP, Srinagar police station chief Amit Kumar Singh, Puni Deepak Kumar Prasad, constable Ranjay Kumar, constable Mohd. Aaqib, Sepoy Raju Paswan, Chowkidar Ramchandra Yadav, Bhikham Yadav, Vidyarthi Yadav, Shambhu Yadav, Amjad Ansari, Iqbal Yadav, Vinod Yadav, Bhola Yadav have been rewarded. All are posted in Srinagar police station.

Let us inform that on November 6, there was an encounter between the police and the liquor traders in Diara of Srinagar police station area. About 50 rounds were fired from both the sides. Jata Jadav, a liquor smuggler, was killed in the incident. When another liquor businessman was injured. Let us inform that the police had received secret information that a large consignment of liquor is being brought by boat via UP in Diara of Srinagar police station area. After which the police had reached the banks of the river in Diara. A large consignment of liquor was being loaded from the boat on the tractor trolley. As soon as the police tried to stop them, the liquor traders started firing on the police. After which the police also started firing from their side in retaliation.
