PM Modi Japan Visit: The Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Japan on September 27 to attend the state funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. During the visit, PM Modi will also meet Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida separately. Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, Shinzo Abe, died on July 8. He was shot dead by an assailant while delivering an election campaign speech in Nara Prefecture.
US Vice President Kamala Harris, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and several other world leaders will attend Abe’s funeral. According to reports, more than 6,000 people are expected to attend Abe’s state funeral in Nippon Budokan, Tokyo.
PM Modi expressed grief by tweeting
PM Modi said in a tweet that I am shocked and saddened by the sad demise of one of my dear friends Shinzo Abe and I have no words to express it. He was a top global statesman, an outstanding leader and a wonderful administrator.
