Prashant Kishor: Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor on Saturday himself ruled out contesting the polls, but reiterated his promise to make a “better alternative” for his home state Bihar. Addressing a press conference here, he lashed out at JD(U) leaders.

In fact, PK was quite upset with the JD(U) leaders for accusing PK of being a ‘dhandebaaz’ (trader) with little political acumen. During this, PK challenged the JD(U) leaders to ask Chief Minister Nitish Kumar why he had kept me at his residence for two years.

In the press conference, I-PAC founder Prashant Kishor was repeatedly asked the question whether he himself was planning to contest the election. To this, he replied that why would I contest elections? I have no such aspiration. He was speaking on the eve of the district convention of West Champaran to be held on Sunday.

The opinion of the people will be taken in this conference whether the ‘Jana Suraj’ campaign should be made a political party. Kishor, who came on a 3,500-km long ‘padyatra’ of the state, said that similar opinion polls would be held in all the districts of the state, on the basis of which the future strategy would be decided.

Kishor claimed that he would once again do this favor to Nitish Kumar if he indulges in his “political venture”. He and his comrades are unhappy with me since I have chosen an independent path for myself. He said that JD(U) leaders like to tell lies to me. He should ask Nitish Kumar what was I doing at his residence for two years if I had no political understanding.

Responding to a question, Kishor said that he does not regret working with Nitish Kumar earlier. He said that there is a huge difference between what he (Kumar) was 10 years ago and who he is now. He left his chair in 2014, taking moral responsibility for his party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. But now he is ready to make any kind of compromise to remain in power.

Mocking the Mahagathbandhan government’s promise of 10 lakh jobs annually, Kishor said, “I have said this many times and say it again – if they fulfill the promise, I will quit my campaign.”
