Perth: Test captain Pat Cummins on Tuesday gave a befitting reply to former coach Justin Langer, saying there are no cowards in the Australian team and his comments will not distract the Australian players ahead of the Test series against the West Indies.
Langer last week called the Australian players cowards and said that he was disgusted by what some players did behind his back and made dressing room things public. Cummins said before the first Test, “There are no cowards in the Australian cricket team.” Never was.”

He said, “I never make private communication public. Sometimes the focus on off-field issues is frustrating but that won’t affect our team.”
Langer had resigned as head coach in February this year after Cricket Australia refused to extend his long-term contract. Langer later retracted his statement saying that the player was like his younger brother. (agency)
