THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday said authorities seized P4.5 million worth of illegal drugs on Saturday during separate operations.
In Cebu, a 24-year-old regional high value individual was arrested. He was identified as John Carl Entia Gimpayan.
Police conducted the operation in Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City. This led to the seizure of P2,550,000 worth of drugs from the suspect.
In Sulu, two drug suspects were nabbed. Lawmakers seized from them hand grenades and sachets containing shabu valued at P340,000.
In San Mateo Rizal, three drug suspects were also apprehended — Joana Babasa, Ana Mae Oliva and Neavie Guzman.
The operatives confiscated from them two plastic bags and six sachets containing suspected shabu worth P1,632,000.
Police operatives also found and destroyed 138 bricks and six tubular forms of dried marijuana leaves in Kalinga province.
The operation stemmed from a tip provided to the police that the suspects will transport marijuana from Tinglayan, Kalinga to Metro Manila.
“The efforts undertaken by various police units and stations in the country are yielding positive results in our fight against crime. These web of police operations are telling us of the relentless drive to sweep crime aside,” PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.
