Asaduddin Owaisi: A new debate has broken out in India after Rishi Sunak became the British Prime Minister. When Owaisi was asked about Rishi Sunak, he said that I have said that inshallah, in my life or after my life, a girl wearing hijab will become the Prime Minister of India. At the same time, he targeted BJP over Halal meat. He said that BJP is against Muslim identity.
Real agenda is to end India’s diversity: Owaisi
Owaisi said, “They feel they are threatened by halal meat, Muslims’ cap, beard, their eating habits. BJP is actually against Muslim identity. PM’s words ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ empty There is rhetoric. The real agenda of the BJP is to destroy India’s diversity and Muslim identity.”
‘Wearing hijab is a matter of choice, not a sign of backwardness’
On the divided opinion of two judges of the Supreme Court on the issue of hijab, Owaisi said, “For the freedom of India our elders had sacrificed their lives, today in the same India our daughters are being asked why do you wear hijab? Wearing hijab is a matter of choice. It is not a sign of backwardness.”
Tharoor questions BJP on Sunak becoming British PM
Earlier, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Indian-origin Rishi Sunak becoming the British Prime Minister said that a party like BJP which does not have a single Muslim MP in Parliament today, which is a shocking situation, which was never there before. He asked whether BJP supporters can imagine a Prime Minister from any other background or a BJP CM of Islamic or Christian faith? He said that I doubt it.
