    Punjab Assembly Session: The Bhagwant Mann government moved a confidence motion in the Punjab Assembly amid allegations that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was attempting ‘Operation Lotus’. During this there was a lot of uproar in the assembly. Congress MLAs raised slogans of Speaker Murdabad, after which Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan ordered to oust the Congress MLAs. Presenting the motion of confidence amidst uproar, Bhagwant Mann said that Congress is supporting BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’.

    ‘We were not allowed to speak, there is something wrong somewhere’

    Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on the uproar in the Assembly: There was a partnership between the BJP and the Congress, they were exposed. Their ‘Operation Lotus’ failed in Punjab. Let alone the BJP, the Congress also destroyed the House. Didn’t let us walk, didn’t let us speak. Something is wrong somewhere. They (BJP, Congress) are dividing the MLAs.”

    Assembly session extended till 3 October

    Let us inform that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had called a special session on 22 September, but then Governor Banwari Lal Purohit did not allow it. There was also a tussle between the Punjab Government and the Governor regarding this and finally the Governor allowed the session on 27 September. In this way, the special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly started today, but there was a ruckus when CM Bhagwant Mann announced to bring a trust vote. At the same time, the one-day assembly session has been extended till October 3. Now the vote of confidence will be held on Monday.

    AAP has 92 MLAs in the 117-member assembly

    The Aam Aadmi Party has 92 MLAs in the 117-member assembly. However, the party claims that the BJP and its central high command are trying to destabilize the state government. AAP had alleged that BJP had approached 10 of its MLAs and offered them Rs 25 crore to topple the Punjab government.
