Kerala News: Five of its activists have been arrested from Kottayam and Kollam districts on charges of violent activities during the Popular Front of India’s (PFI) state-wide strike in Kerala on September 23 to protest the raids on its offices across the country and the arrest of its leaders. . Four PFI activists were arrested from Kottayam on Monday for vandalizing a bakery and damaging Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses. A PFI worker was also arrested from Kollam on Monday. The PFI worker is accused of hitting a police motorbike to avoid being caught by the policemen.

Police bike hit

They said the police were trying to nab him as he was allegedly intimidating and abusing people present on the Kottiyam-Pallimukku section of National Highway-66 on September 23. While trying to escape from the police, the accused hit the bike of the patrolling policeman and fled.

Case registered for murder

Two officers on the bike were seriously injured, one of whom is still hospitalized, police said on Tuesday. The accused, arrested from Kollam, has been booked for the offense of attempt to murder and the court has sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
