    Every small effort opens the way to great success in life…. It is believed that elderly women swimmers who reached Ambala Cantt from different states of the country. These women are at that stage of age when they have to take support of others, but the special thing is that these women are inspirational for those youths, who are taking big steps by turning away from small problems in life.

    Let us introduce you to those women. These women are showering medals in the ongoing 18th National Master Swimming Championship at War Heroes Stadium, Ambala Cantt.

    83 year old Lal Pari Rai.

    Lal Pari has given new life to more than 10 people
    Lal Pari Rai, 83, is a resident of Patna, Bihar. Lal Pari Rai has been swimming since the age of 12. She has arrived with her 62-year-old son Om Prakash Rai to participate in the Ambala Cantt Swimming Championship. Lal Pari Rai won the gold medal in the 100m freestyle event.

    Even before this, about 35 gold, 30 silver and 5 to 7 bronze medals have been won. Lal Pari Rai says that she used to secretly go to the village pond to bathe secretly from her family members. Slowly learned swimming there. Told that till now he has saved the lives of more than 10 people drowning in water.

    Once used to be afraid of water, now won 15 gold in swimming
    61-year-old Usha Patel, once afraid of water, is an example for the younger generation today. Usha Patel has captured more than 15 gold medals in the State Level Swimming Championship. Now Usha Patel has also won gold medal in National Master Championship. Usha Patel is a resident of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

    Usha Patel’s 72-year-old husband Girish Ji Patel is a businessman. Usha told that all the family members know swimming. She was very afraid of water, but one day her husband took her to the swimming pool and pushed her into the water there. From the same day her fear went away and in 15 days she started swimming after learning swimming.

    I am a doctor by profession but still have a passion for swimming.
    65 year old Dr. Sunita Rana Agarwal is a surgeon by profession who has come from Karnataka to participate in the Ambala Cantt Swimming Championship. Dr. Sunita started learning swimming at the age of 5. At the age of 11 (year 1969), she won the South Zone Women’s Championship. Not only this, the journey did not stop here, she won the National Gold in 1974 and then qualified for the International Swimming Championship held in Canada.

    According to Dr. Sunita, she is the first gold medalist in Asia and the sixth gold medalist in the world. Dr. Rana tells that after that he started MBBS studies in the year 1981. He also achieved gold medals in medical studies. His 4 children are also doctors, who are running 150 hospitals across the country. He has won gold medal in Ambala Cantt by completing 100 meters freestyle event in 1.28 seconds.
