The municipal elections were held in a peaceful atmosphere in Supaul’s Nagar Panchayat Simrahi today. A total of 29 polling stations were set up in 17 wards of Nagar Panchayat Simrahi. There are a total of 18327 voters in Simrahi Nagar Panchayat, which includes 35 new voters this time. In the elections, 11 candidates for the post of Chief Councillor, 13 candidates for the post of Deputy Chief Councilor and 131 candidates for the post of Ward Councilor were locked in EVMs by the voters.

A crowd of voters was seen at various polling stations of Nagar Panchayat Simrahi since morning. And voters were seen voting in queues. However, the pace of polling was slow from 11 am to 3 pm. But in the last minute, once again the crowd of voters appeared at the polling stations and the remaining voters also exercised their franchise and showed their participation in the municipal elections.

Let us inform that Simrahi used to be a Gram Panchayat earlier, but after the formation of Nagar Panchayat, for the first time the election of Nagar Panchayat Simrahi has been held, for which there was a lot of enthusiasm among the people. Here the polling station of Ward No. 1 and 7 was made an ideal polling station. In some wards, the polling station was built at such places where there was no proper way to go, but still the voters were reaching the polling station to vote.

At the same time, 104-year-old woman Malti Devi reached the polling station of Ward No. 06 of Simrahi Nagar Panchayat to cast her vote. Those who took part in the great festival of democracy by exercising their right to vote. He said that he has voted for the development of the Nagar Panchayat by the people’s representatives who will become new faces in the Nagar Panchayat.

At the same time, the district administration also showed determination to conduct clean and peaceful elections and armed police personnel were seen ready at various polling stations. No untoward incident was reported from anywhere during the polling. Here DM cum DDC in-charge of Supaul district Mukesh Kumar told that the elections have been completed peacefully in Simrahi Nagar Panchayat. At the same time, the police administration and jawans along with the administrative officer remained ready at every polling stations regarding the election.
