Noida (UP): Based on the recovery certificate (RC) issued by the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA), the Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration has seized two bank accounts of former international cricketer Munaf Patel and recovered Rs 52 lakh. An officer gave this information. Munaf Patel is the Director in the builder company ‘Niwas Promoters Private Limited’. UP RERA has taken this action on the allegation of Munaf Patel’s company not returning the money to the investors.
District Magistrate Gautam Buddha Nagar Suhas LY said that action has been taken against the builder on the RC of ‘UP RERA’. Munaf Patel is also a director in that company. After legal advice, the revenue team seized the bank account and recovered the RC money. He informed that efforts are also being made to recover the outstanding amount. The District Magistrate said, “A project named ‘Oneleaf Troy’ is being worked on under ‘Niwas Promoters Pvt Ltd’ in Greater Noida West Sector-10, whose buyers had complained to UP RERA for not completing the project on time.” After hearing on the basis of the complaint, UP RERA issued an order against the builder.”

He told that UP RERA had issued RC to the builder for non-compliance of the order. More than 40 RCs worth Rs 10 crore are pending against the builder with the district administration. LY said, “In this case, the team of Dadri tehsil tried to recover, but the builder did not give the money. After this, the tehsil team started recovery from the directors of the company after taking legal advice. “Cricketer Munaf Patel is the director of the company. The amount has been recovered by freezing two accounts located in two branches of Axis Bank in Noida and Gujarat. Around Rs 52 lakh has been seized from both the banks.” He told that further action will be taken against the builder. ,
‘Niwas Promoters Pvt Ltd’ had registered the project in the year 2017 with UP RERA. If the work was not completed within the stipulated time, UP RERA gave additional time to the builder giving one more chance. Despite this the work was not completed. The registration of this project also expired in the same year. LY told that action is being taken against the builder on RC of UP RERA. In this sequence, the bank accounts of the company’s director Munaf Patel have been seized. He informed that similar action is being taken to recover the remaining amount. (agency)
