The Eknath Shinde faction has made a second offer to the Election Commission for the party symbol. Shinde camp has given ‘shining sun’, ‘shield and sword’ and ‘peepal tree’ to the Election Commission as its election symbol options. Let us inform that earlier the Shinde faction had submitted three symbols of trishul, mace and rising sun to the Election Commission as alternatives but these were rejected. Shinde faction did not get both the election symbols due to the religious symbols of mace and trident. At the same time, the rising sun was not found due to the election symbol of DMK. After this, the Election Commission again asked the Shinde faction to give new options.
Uddhav Thackeray has got the torch symbol
Let us inform that the Election Commission has handed over the torch symbol to Uddhav Thackeray. After this, the Uddhav Thackeray faction has released a poster with the new election symbol and the name of the new party. The Uddhav faction had earlier given trishul, rising sun and torch as election symbols. Out of these, the Uddhav faction got the torch symbol. The Uddhav faction did not get the ‘Trishul’ symbol because it has a religious symbol. The ‘rising sun’ was not found because it is with the ruling party DMK in Tamil Nadu. The ‘Mashal’ election symbol was with the Samata Party till 2004. Since then it was not allotted to anyone, so this symbol has been given to the Uddhav faction.
Both the factions were allotted in the name of the party.
Both the factions had given the name Shiv Sena (Balasaheb Thackeray) as their first alternate name. Because of this, both the groups did not get this name. Along with this, the second option was Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) as the name of the party in the option of Uddhav faction. It was allotted to the Uddhav faction. Similarly, in the alternative of Shinde faction, another option was given to Balasahebchi Shiv Sena.
