New Delhi: Sri Lankan cricketer Chamika Karunaratne had an accident on the field in the Lanka Premier League 2022 match played on 7 December. Due to which he had to go to the hospital in the middle of the match. In this match, Chamika was trying to catch the catch. But, he was so badly injured while taking the catch that he was immediately taken to the hospital. After going to the hospital, it was found that his front 4 teeth were broken due to the catch. At the same time, that his wounds may also have to undergo surgery.

Actually, the match was being played between Galle Gladiators and Kandy Falcons. Chamika Karunaratne was part of the Kandy Falcons team in this match. Galle Gladiators batted first. Galle came to bowl the fourth over of the Gladiators’ innings. On his very first ball, Nuwindu Fernando, standing on strike, played a shot and the ball went in the air. Chamika got injured in catching this catch.
