The Ministry of Home Affairs has given permission to prosecute former Chief Minister Lalu Yadav in the land-for-job scam case. Even in the new year, their difficulties are no less. The CBI had filed a charge sheet in the case in October last year against 16 accused including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti. But being the Union Railway Minister at the time of the scam, the sanction of the Ministry of Home Affairs was required for prosecution.

After getting approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has also been deposited in the Special Court located at Rouse Avenue, Delhi. It is learned that the court has also given permission to prosecute. Now the way has been cleared for prosecution of all the accused including Lalu Prasad. The sanction of the Ministry of Home Affairs is necessary to prosecute the minister accused in the scam, while the sanction against the accused officials is taken from the department concerned.

Lalu Prasad has been convicted in the fodder scam case and is out on bail. Their difficulty is expected to increase further. Now he will have to take bail when the court proceedings begin in the land-for-job case.
