Once Shastri ji had to buy a saree for his wife Lalita Shastri. They went to a shop. The owner of the shop was very happy to see Shastriji. He considered their arrival as his privilege and welcomed them. Shastri ji said, they are in a hurry and they need four-five saris. The manager of the shop started showing Shastri ji more than one saris, the saris were very expensive and expensive.

Seeing their price, Shastri ji said – Brother, I do not want such expensive sarees, show them low prices. The manager said, Sir, consider them as your own, there is no question of price, it is our good fortune that you come. This is the time when Shastri ji used to be the Railway Minister in the Nehru government. He had to go to Mumbai suddenly due to some government work. He chose the rail route for the journey, the railway officials prepared a first class coach for his journey. The train left from Delhi. When the car started moving, he realized that something other than the normal fans had been arranged in the box. Because it was hot outside and there was a terrible heat wave.
