What is Airbag System?
Hearing the name air bag, it seems that a bag that contains only air. Let us tell you that it is made from carton and silicone coating is done on it. The same sodium gas is filled. It is mounted in the front dashboard of the vehicle. This air bag reduces the chances of death. When the car collides with someone, the air bag becomes like a balloon. And as soon as there is a collision, the air bag captures the person.

Now the question must be coming in your mind that what is the process of how it works. How does the air bag know that an accident has happened? Now how it works, so let’s explain it to you in full detail. The air bag rests entirely on a sensor. Sensors are installed near the bonnet in the car. As soon as the car collides, these sensors are activated as fast, after which it does not take a second for the air bag to open. It is believed that the speed of the airbag is up to 300 kilometers per hour.
How does the airbag get full?
Behind the air bag is a cylinder of sodium azide gas, this cylinder is in chemical form and the most important thing is that if it is hit fast, it converts into gas immediately. A little sodium azide gas turns into nitrogen gas. Let us tell you that there are wires from the sensor to the gas cylinder and when an accident happens, they supply electric current to the cylinder, after which the solid chemical becomes gas and the air bag gets full. All this process takes only micro seconds.
Is it possible to get airbags in used cars?
Not all older cars can be fitted with air bags. If you are thinking about getting an airbag in your old car, then let us tell you that the more your old car, the more money will be spent on getting the airbag installed. You can remove the steering system of your old car and get such a steering which can easily fit the airbag system, although for your information, let us tell you that this system may not fit in all old cars.
If we talk about its cost, then 4 to 5 lakh rupees will be spent. Also, there will be no guarantee of security. That airbag is specially designed for that car only.
