Kharge v/s Tharoor: Election for the post of Congress President, today is the last date for withdrawal of nominations

Congress President Election: Today is the last day to withdraw nomination for the election for the post of President in Congress. Two candidates Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Shashi Tharoor are still facing each other in the election. Today, if either of the two does not withdraw, then on October 17, Congress delegates will vote for both of them, whose results will be declared on October 19.

Tharoor has already said that he will not withdraw his nomination

However, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had already said that he will not cheat the Congress workers and he will not withdraw his nomination. Earlier, the nomination form of the third candidate KN Tripathi was canceled. In Kharge and Tharoor, if any one withdraws his name today, then the one candidate left will be elected unopposed for the presidency.

All India Professionals Congress chief has already resigned

MP Shashi Tharoor, who is contesting for the post of Congress President, has already resigned from the post of All India Professionals Congress chief following the principle of one man one post. After filing his nomination, Tharoor had said that I have a vision for the Congress, which I will send to all the delegates. I will be the voice of all Congress workers. Earlier, Kharge had also resigned as the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

After 24 years, a new president will be available from the Gandhi family

Now it is believed that after 24 years, the Congress is expected to get a new president from the Gandhi family. Because no member of Gandhi family is contesting in this election. Sonia Gandhi has refused to contest the presidential election due to health reasons and Rahul Gandhi due to his busyness in Bharat Jodo Yatra.
