Confirming the news, a senior officer of the Crime Branch of Kerala Police said that based on the statement of the victim, a case has been registered against the MLA under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim said that the Congress leader had tried to kill her. rape And now apart from attempt to murder, the Congress MLA has also been charged with assault following a complaint from the same woman. The woman had earlier alleged that she was abducted and assaulted by the Congress MLA.

The Kerala Police had on October 11 registered a case against the MLA from Perumbavoor on the complaint of the woman. The woman had said that the MLA kidnapped her and assaulted her. A case was registered against 3 accused, including the MLA’s personal assistant and a friend, in connection with an incident that took place on September 14. The woman later claimed that Kunnapally had offered her Rs 30 lakh to settle the case registered against her.
