The main accused, Raju Nishad, was arrested in the case of the death of 26 people in the accident on the Saad-Bhitargaon road in Kanpur. 26 people died in the accident on Saturday. Raju himself was driving the tractor and he was drunk.

The police had registered a report against Raju Nishad, tractor owner Prahlad, Ramshankar and Bane on the complaint of the injured Preeti. Let us inform that a big accident has happened in Bhitargaon under Ghatampur area in Kanpur. A tractor-trolley full of devotees overturned uncontrollably near Bhadeuna village of Bhitargaon. In this 26 people died and many people were seriously injured.
Dead bodies were found in water
Hundreds of villagers gathered after the accident. A force of about ten police stations also reached. All the people got involved in the relief work. Somehow the body was pulled out of the water by removing the trolley. People searched for the dead bodies for several hours.
8 kids, 5 teens, 13 women
So far 26 people have been confirmed dead. In which 8 children, five adolescent girls and 13 women are included. Two old women are also among the deceased women.
Accident caused by
Police investigation revealed that the tractor belonged to Prahlad, a resident of the village. While coming back, Raju himself was driving the tractor. All the other youths, including Raju, had consumed alcohol. Raju was waving tractor running at high speed. Suddenly the tractor got out of control and he could not control it. After going about thirty meters away, the tractor trolley fell into the Khanti uncontrollably.
