Jhansi: 2 Mlas, 2 Ministers And Even The Mp Himself Could Not Save The Chair Of His Ward, The Rebel Candidate Threw It

The ward in which 2 ministers, 1 MLA, 1 MLC and 1 MP resides, the BJP candidate has faced a crushing defeat from the same ward. The winner here is none other than the rebel candidate of BJP.

On May 13, after the counting of votes for the UP civic elections, the BJP seemed very happy with the results that came out. BJP captured 17 out of 17 seats for the post of Mayor. But there were some seats where not only BJP had to face defeat but also had to face embarrassment. One such seat is Ward No. 53 of Jhansi metropolis, where BJP lost despite having one MP, two MLAs and two ministers from the BJP party.

Neither Minister, MP nor MLA could save BJP’s nose
Let us tell you that in Jhansi metropolitan ward number-53, independent candidate Lakhan Kushwaha defeated BJP’s Mayank Dixit by a huge margin of 342 votes. The special thing is that ward number-53 of Jhansi metropolis is such a ward, where Jhansi MP from BJP party Anurag Sharma, MLC Babulal Tiwari, Minister of State Hargovind Kushwaha, former Education Minister Ravindra Shukla, Sadar MLA Ravi Sharma etc. have residences. Even after that BJP had to face defeat from this ward. This crushing defeat of BJP has become a topic of discussion in the district.

Expelled candidate from BJP gave a befitting reply

In fact, the rebel Lakhan Kushwaha, who was expelled from the BJP from this ward and was a member of the Municipal Corporation twice from the Bharatiya Janata Party, has won as an independent candidate. Lakhan Kushwaha’s ticket was cut off by the BJP only because the ward from which he was elected was earlier reserved for backward classes. But now the same ward has become unreserved in the 2023 municipal elections. Lakhan Kushwaha says that he had to lose the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket because of being from a backward class. But Lakhan was not disheartened by not getting the ticket and stood in the election as an independent candidate and surprised everyone by winning.
