A unique case of cheating in love has come to light where a Japanese woman was duped by a man claiming to be a Russian cosmonaut of Rs 25 lakh. The accused claimed that he was working on the International Space Station (ISS) and needed money to return to Earth to marry her.

In June this year, a 65-year-old woman from Japan’s Shiga Prefecture met the man on Instagram, where the man’s profile was filled with pictures of space, the report said. The two began exchanging messages and soon shifted their conversation to Line, a Japanese messaging application. After some time the man told the woman that he loved her and wanted to go to Japan and marry her. But there is a problem that he is trapped in space and he needs money to return to earth. You have to pay for the landing of the rocket that can take me to Japan.
The woman was cheated of Rs 25 lakh, now the police is investigating
Reportedly, between the period August 19 to September 5, the woman sent around Rs 25 lakh to the man. However, as he kept asking for more money, the Japanese woman became suspicious and lodged a complaint. Japanese police are investigating the case under the ‘romance scam’ bracket.
